Benjamin Tainturier Cet enregistrement est particulièrement précieux. Pour tous ceux qui ont suivi et aimé les aventures de metatonal en cd ou en concert, c'est un disque à avoir.
Kumiho en version "nonet" est purement et simplement jouissif. On y entend le dialogue entre "paysages avec bruit" et "metatonal", cet échange entre plusieurs orchestres dans l'orchestre dont le principe avait été déjà exploré dans "tower Bridge" évidemment ou encore dans Lady M d'une autre façon.
Jouissif. Ça se danse ça...

All tracks recorded live at Théâtre Auditorium de Poitiers, France, on March 22nd, 2017.
That very special evening saw the Marc Ducret Trio+3 "Métatonal" (with guests Fabrice Martinez on trumpet, Christophe Monniot on saxophones and Samuel Blaser on trombone) augmented by the "Trio Jounal Intime" of Sylvain Bardiau (trumpet), Matthias Mahler (trombone) and Frédéric Gastard (bass saxophone).
The two last tunes of the concert, originally composed and arranged for the Métatonal sextet, were played by all nine musicians.

Je suis très attentivement le travail de Christophe Monniot et de Marc Ducret depuis très longtemps, et je dois dire que ce disque me surprend et me passionne. C'est bien eux mais c'est aussi tout neuf et tout renversant, évidemment, puisque c'est eux, mais quand même, on croyait les connaître. Comme le dit Stéphane Berland dans sa note, les arrangements sont particulièrement remarquables. Ce qui est là encore, pas surprenant quand on les connaît, mais surprenant parceque justement, c'est eux. Benjamin Tainturier
